The Hot Stove Is Burning Tonight, Lots Of Players Sign

The market is clearing out today as many free agents have signed with teams.

-Jon Garland signed a one year $4.7 million dollar deal with a mutual option for 2011 with the San Diego Padres

– The Twins sign Jim Thome to a one year $1.5 million dollar deal

-The A’s are close to signing Johnny Damon

-The Padres signed Matt Stairs to a minor league contract

-Dodgers sign Brad Ausmus to a one year $805 thousand dollar deal with a $1 million dollar club option for 2011

– The Cardinals signed Rich Hill to a minor league deal and an invite to spring training

– The Dodgers re-signed Ronnie Belliard to a one year $850 thousand dollar deal

– The A’s sign Ben Sheets to a one year deal worth $10 million dollars

– The Cubs signed Xavier Nady to a one year deal worth $3.25 million dollars

Nothing too major besides the Ben Sheets signing, but a lot of deals that will help teams improve depth and fill some holes. As a Cub fan, their were a lot of worse people we could’ve signed then Xavier Nady ( i.e. Rocco Baldelli) To be our fourth outfielder/platoon partner with Fukudome.
