Giants Sign Mark Derosa

The Giants, who fell a few good hitters shy of winning the division last year, added the versitile, fan-favorite, Mark Derosa to their team. Derosa signed a two year deal worth $12 million and will presumably play left field for them. The Giants seemed to have overpayed for a 35 year old coming off surgery, but because of Derosa’s versitility and hard work ethics, he was covetted by so many teams, such as the Yankees and Phillies.

I think the Giants got the player that they needed, and hopefully won’t turn out like the Edgar Renteria signing last year. When Derosa played for the Cubs, he was loved in Chicago, and still is today. I wish we could have gotten him back this offseason, he isn’t a nut case like other Cubs players,(Zambrano…Bradley….cough…cough) And can play pretty much anywhere you ask him to. He works hard every day, and is a tremendous clubhouse guy. He was a leader in Chicago and I wish Derosa the best of luck with the Giants.
