Jimmy Dean’s Oddball Card

Below is a picture of a card I recently recieved in a trade. It features Ryne Sandberg playing second base and is produced by Jimmy Dean’s, most famous for their delicous breakfast sandwiches. Of course, if you look closely, you will find that the Cubs logo on Sandberg’s chest and hat have been airbrushed out of the card. This is because Jimmy Dean’s wasn’t allowed to produced licensed baseball cards, like Donruss and soon-to-be, Upper Deck.

In a way, I enjoy oddball cards like this Sandberg more then regular produced cards like Topps because it’s kind of fun to look at these cards and remember how you got each one and how funny they look without the logos.
