Texas Rangers Sign Rich Harden

Today, the Texas Rangers made a huge improvement to their pitching staff by signing former Cub, Rich Harden. The deal is worth $7.5 million with an $11.5 million dollar team option for 2011.

Even though Harden is often injured, when he is healthy he is one of the most dominant pitchers in the game. Last year, with the Cubs, he had a 10.9/9 inning stike out ratio, one of the best in the game. If it’s one thing the Rangers need, it is a veteran pitcher to add to their rotation full of youngsters now that Kevin Millwood has been dealt to the Orioles. With a few more improvements to the rotation and bullpen, the Rangers will be a huge competitor i nthe AL West. They already have one of the most dangerous offensive lineups in the game with stars like Ian Kinsler, Josh Hamilton, and Chris Davis.
